Here are some further updates on planning matters in Kilkenny this month.
1. Living City Initiative – Information Event
A public information evening has been organised for Wednesday the 17th
June, 7pm – 9pm, in Butler House, Kilkenny. Please see details on our

2. Colloquium Towards a Regional Urbanism
The Academy of Urbanism and the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland
(RIAI) are holding a one day seminar in Kilkenny Castle on Friday the 19th
of June 2015. Places are still available (€150 RIAI Members/

3. Local Economic and Community Plan
Kilkenny County Council and the Local Community Development Committee
(LCDC) for Kilkenny are preparing a Local Economic and Community Plan for
the county. The Community and Enterprise Department would like to hear
your views on what actions should be in the plan by 5pm on 30th June 2015.
Public Meetings have been organised for Castlecomer (Tuesday 23rd June),
Piltown (Thursday 25th June) and Kilkenny City (Monday 29th of June). For

4. Proposed Housing at The Butts, Kilkenny.
Kilkenny County Council’s Housing Strategy contains a proposed housing
scheme for the Butts in Kilkenny City consisting of 21 units of
accommodation. The Council is currently examining a number of design
options (3) and will put these on display in the Neighbourhood Hall on
Thursday 18th June from 11am to 2.30 pm. This will be an informal
information session and Council staff will be present to answer any
queries.
